Puppy Training in Your Home
Private lessons are tailored to your specific needs as well as your puppy’s unique temperament and learning style. We will be teaching the puppy each new skill hands on, and help you practice it with the pup until the two of you get it perfect! Each training session lasts an hour. These are your classes, addressing your specific needs, but some commonly covered areas are: house and crate training, no play biting, no jumping, sit, down, stay, come, drop it, leave it, walk with me, heel, off, look, touch, games and tricks. Private classes are especially great for families: we will strengthen the bond between your children and puppy by making your kids skilled dog trainers, teach the difference between good games and bad ones, and even do fun puppy tricks!
We offer packages of four classes ($165 per in home visit) and six classes (only $149/in-home visit). If you opt for individual classes, instead of the packages, the price is $189/hour-long visit.
Email info@puppyk.com to schedule your first class. Include your address, please, so that we can tell you if you are within our service area for in-home privates or if we will meet at one of our training site locations.

“Best Start for Pup” Combo Deals
Do you want to get personal one-on-one attention and help with trouble shooting at home, as well as the benefit of puppy socialization of group classes? Combine the six week long puppy class (see below) with one or more private one-on-one classes!
Schedule your first in-home visit as soon as possible after getting your pup, or possibly even before! First impressions are critical when it comes to house training. Jutka will teach you a foolproof house training method that guarantees that your puppy will be eliminating outdoors from day one. In this initial visit, she will also show you how to quickly diminish play biting, and discuss feeding, crating, settling at night, appropriate toys and games, and answer all your questions!
If you want to have the very best start for your pup, we recommend combining the puppy classes with several private classes. This will allow trouble shooting right in the home environment, involving kids in the training, training tailored to your pup’s temperament and your needs, and even teaching some fun tricks! You can choose up to four private classes when you sign up below. The private class(es) will be in your own home if you live within our service area; if not, we will meet at a training facility. Cost is $449 for six group classes plus one private; $599 for group plus two privates; $749 for group plus three privates; $899 for group plus four privates.
See the timing and location for our upcoming puppy classes below, but be sure to sign up using the link right below this section, not at the bottom of the page.

From the moment they land in your home, puppies are learning (where to pee, what to bite, how to play with a human etc.). Having a private class in your home is the best way to guarantee your puppy is learning all the right lessons…and none of the wrong ones!!
AKC STAR PUPPY Group Class
Group puppy classes combine training with the socialization benefit (and fun!) of playing with other puppies and other people. Each class begins with a fun, yet carefully monitored, puppy play session. Then we move on to instructional time. We teach the pups sit, down, come, heel, stay, off, look, touch, leave it, and then build on these basic commands to make pup polite at home, such as sitting and waiting for food and greeting visitors respectfully. Small class size not only provides safety during these times, but also ensures that you get lots of individual attention and guidance. At our indoor Springfield location, our policy is one trainer per puppy (puppies focus better!), except for the AKC STAR Puppy Test, when the more, the merrier.
These classes are for young puppies! Maximum age on first day of classes: medium/large breed puppies under 5 months old (6 months at Brambleton location); small breed pups under 6 months old. Older pups should enroll in our Good Manners class–see under Dog Training. We recommend that you have the puppy settle into your home for about 10 days before starting group classes. Please note that puppies do NOT need to have ALL their vaccinations completed to start puppy classes (we would miss that critical socialization window!), We require the first two sets of vaccinations and a negative fecal test.
The next puppy classes in Fairfax County will start on Saturday, March 15, at 3:30pm and 4:30pm. Dates: 3/15, 3/22, 3/29, we skip a week, 4/12, we skip Easter weekend, 4/26, and 5/3 (AKC STAR Puppy Graduation!). One missed class can be made up in the next session. The next puppy class in Loudoun County will start on Wednesday, March 26, at 5:30pm. Dates: 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, we skip Spring Break, 4/23, 4/30 and 5/7. Register below. Please note: if you want both group and private classes, register ABOVE instead, using the button at the end of the Combo section.
When signing up, you will fill out a contact form first, then make payment. Square will confirm your payment immediately; you will receive further communication from PuppyK within 72 hours. After registering, we will also need you to email up-to-date vaccination and fecal test records to info@puppyk.com. If your puppy’s health clearance does not come through in time, you can participate in the next set of classes offered or use your payment toward private classes. No refunds.

Pups become great friends and learn important social skills during puppy playtime.

At the completion of the six classes, your puppy will be an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy with an official AKC medal and certificate to prove it! More importantly, your puppy will be on his way to be a well socialized and polite pooch for life.
